The attempts to ignore it did not manage to shame it enough to make it leave, huh? Now that's a Trumpvirus for sure.

Well, maybe some more ignorance and denial will do the trick. However, it is patriotic these days to die for capitalism since we don't have much else left in the American values system.

Sacrifice humans to satisfy the money god.

One human isn't enough. There needs to be over 100k. Oh. The money god still wants more. Well, then, let's sacrifice MORE humans until the money god is happy. And who's the high priest who determines how many dies? Why that's the All Powerful Trumpy.

The official from WHO posted a correction to her statement on asymptomatic carriers, apparently after this video was made.

I copied this from the Guardian UK:

The World Health Organization’s Covid-19 technical lead backtracked on her comment that asymptomatic transmission of the virus was “very rare”. “I think that it’s a misunderstanding to state the asymptomatic transmission globally is very rare,” Dr Maria Van Kerkhove said, noting modeling suggesting 40% of infections could be transmitted by people without symptoms.

WHO and the CDC must stop shooting ourselves in the foot with careless statements like this one. The right-wing thrives on them.

Regarding the case spikes, there seems to be some credence to our earlier thinking when reopening started that those flocking to beaches and bars were taking serious risks. Not sure why Arizona is having their spike, though.

... what if it was even true about only-symptomatic spreaders?

I'm supposed to trust people to not show up in public if they have symptoms? The same kind of people who don't want to behave altruistically enough to wear a simple mask?

Uh huh! Not me!

feel entitled to do as they damn well please. They are brainwashed servants of full-steam-ahead capitalism.

Spent a lot of time working service jobs in your state before retirement and I know you have an abundant supply of knuckleheads just like Kentucky.

Agree with what you said. I'm high risk and until I see scientific proof this thing has been totally cornered or eliminated, I'm mostly staying home.

3. Cases on Monday, when things opened up, 69

Cases on Friday, 331. I know that doesn't look like much to people from high population states, but that's almost a five fold increase, mostly people who were infected on Monday. It's gone back below 200 since then, but this virus is still out there and it's still infecting people.

Celebrating reopening by going on a spree was a bad idea.

I wouldn't call infectious people asymptomatic, the day before I showed symptoms of presumptive, I had a slightly scratchy throat and a taste in my mouth that signaled a cold. Then it went away. Then I got the fever, headache, and cough--but no sore throat, sniffles, or sneezing. That's what made it so weird and it might explain why testing via nasal swab is so hit and miss, this virus just sort of says howdy to the upper respiratory system as it dives for the real goodies farther down.

My best guess says that cases will be lower this summer, as people spend more time outdoors than in. Come fall and winter, this has the potential of clobbering us hard, so stay in practice with good handwashing, avoid crowds, and get used to wearing either WHO type fabric masks or surgical masks or N95 masks, if you've got them. None of this will stop the virus, but it will slow it down and reduce the initial viral load and the latter has a faint chance of determining whether your case is mild or severe.

I didn't bother trying to get tested because my temp barely broke 101 and I didn't want to infect anybody else in order to go get one. It still lasted a full 2 weeks and I still have a morning cough. Whatever it was, it has teeth.
