I have heard a couple conversations about this. If a citizen had pushed that cop off, they would still be in jail. Messed up!

The Mpls police chief said, we can call for the supervisor to come on scene. Well, okay, but how long would that take?!

In an honest discussion, what can bystanders do to stop this while it is happening? Filming it for sure is the number one weapon, but can we as citizens stop it while it is happening?

I would like to think of myself as a good person, who will intervene and push the cop away regardless of the repercussions. But most likely I would have been scared to act, scared of what might happen to me. Selfless people who do the right thing under sudden and challenging circumstances are extremely rare and admirable, but we should not depend on their existence. The rot is institutional, and requires a radical fix.

What if a citizen does something to stop a cop? How can the citizen be protected?
Those "stand your ground" laws should apply here.
