2. Something really does need to be done, there have been so many preventable deaths

When I think of the prison issues, I think of Jimmy Carter. One of his (many) signature issues was the record number of incarcerations in this country. Starting when he was Governor, both he and Rosalynn took on cases of those who had been wrongly imprisoned, usually for lack of funds.
