11. What is amazing to me is how easy it would be to spin if they weren't stupid

If you reported the percentage of positive tests, that number would likely go down with more testing.

It certainly would be compared to earlier figures when they were limiting tests to only people showing symptoms.
But if you encourage everyone to get tested - even those without symptoms, then the percentage of positive results would go down.

So there is a path that would both increase the testing and be able to spin the numbers to make them look positive. But they are either too stupid or too lazy to do that. Instead they would rather pretend the problem goes away if you don't look at it.


(Just to clarify - I am not suggesting that the number of cases has diminished. It clearly is increasing. I'm just pointing out how it is possible to actually do the right thing and still play number games to make yourself look good. As bad as that is, it is far better than what they are doing now.)

It's clear from this that he is totally serious about what he considers too much testing being a bad thing and all's it does is find more cases

The only humor he attempted was ridiculing testing a 10 year old "with the sniffles who will recover in about 15 minutes", and they find he tests positive, and "that's a case, that's a case" as if that's somehow ridiculous and somehow shouldn't be counted as a case.

So what he is doing is basically killing off the people who love and adore him. People older .. more venerable -people with low immune systems, with bad hearts and kidneys. People who are obese... have diabetes...lung problems from years of smoking, ...and now
they are showing up to a rally, in the middle of a pandemic.. not wearing masks because if people had to wear a mask, the President would be wearing one.

Instead they believe the entire Covid 19 is a Democratic hoax... to some how help Biden's election. They believe in this Self absorbed
uneducated fool, who thinks injecting someone with bleach, makes him a near genius.Who in all likely hood could just place his hands on the sick, (if he wanted to) and heal them like some evangelical preacher..

They are following someone who is sick...mentally...and believe that if he came out and said the Clouds from now on should be the color pink, ...they will start calling them Pink Clouds...

And the Rich Republicans will chuckle and call a drink "The pink Trump cloud" ...

You ignore that when testing is increased per standard time interval, the NUMBER OF NEGATIVES is increased. Then, by your logic, increasing sampling and looking only at negatives would make suppression efforts look more effective (which is false). So, you can buy some cheap "success" -- increase the sampling rate and watch the number of negatives increase.

The error in your assertion that increasing testing will find more positives (it may happen) is that you ignore the number of negatives.

Both the numbers of positives and negatives must be taken into account to get a result for trend that can be compared to other trends of variable sample size. That is, public health researchers need this meaningful number: [the number of positives divided by the sum of positives + negatives] times 1000.

Yes, more testing will increase the number of positives. But, Donnie, it also increases the number of negatives. And, we are not doing better than other countries.
