The husband runs a law firm, and his wife up until this incident had a high profile in the firm. So it's plausible that her being mentally ill is being put forth to protect his reputation and business. On the other hand, maybe she is mentally ill.

8. It is old news but there wasn't a genuine mental illness excuse, IMO.

The husband claimed she’s been paranoid since a home break-in, and paranoia doesn’t lead a person to become a vile racist. Seems like a predictable CYA story.

Here’s one of the sources about this, there are others. Her husband apologized, which may or may not have been due to a massive number of negative online reviews for his business. The woman herself has not apologized for her racist assault.
