(45,806 posts)You can be sure DT thought the SCOTUS would be a lock on HIS wishes and the most recent rulings went against him. Certainly the majority of them will at least lean right, and Joe is going to have to make judicial appointments for any vacancies a top priority. When we win the Senate, that will make it much easier to do. McTurtle wouldn't let he Senate vote on many of Obama' nomi8nees so we MUST vote HIM out! At the very least make him the minority leader.

(205,277 posts)And you're right, it didn't just begin with Trump. I remember very well that McConnell's only objective was attempting to make Obama "a one-term president." He fortunately failed at that, but he sure made sure that little got through the Senate and he's still at it. Replacing McConnell and electing a Democratic majority has got to be one of our priorities.

(13,895 posts)bi partizan. Obama tried that and it did not work out well. McTurttle blocked him at every turn. At best we will have 2 years in the majority to undo what tRump has screwed up. Historically the house or senate will change party's after 2 years. That's our timeline. Now what to change in those two years and the priority is the question... If we get a full four years that would be a bonus
YMMV
