We love Michael Franti and Spearhead so much! I first heard him on Democracy Now and we have followed him ever since. They used to perform in NM a lot and we saw them a few times at the Taos Solar Music Festival as well as in Santa Fe. It is well-worth reading Michael's biography. He is a strong supporter of human rights and has not worn shoes for many years to bring knowledge of the issue of poverty and the fact that many people (especially children) in developing countries live without the benefit of shoes - one of the small things that we, as a society, tend to take for granted.
