(9,117 posts)Still, a Mike Pence/Joe Biden race would be interesting. I believe that Pence would be the replacement candidate; if the pachyderms hand the nomination to anyone else, much of the Religious Right would walk.

(2,850 posts)So if he drops out, it will only be because he thinks he can't win, and he wants to declare victory and leave before he gets humiliated by the voters.
IMO if that was going to happen it would have happened in 2016. The conventional wisdom in 2016 was that he was a terrible candidate who was going to lose to Hillary Clinton, maybe by a lot. He knows that, and he knows he won, in spite of the common perception that he couldn't.
Its more likely that he is going to dig in and think of new ways to cheat the system - we already know that he cheats at everything, and has already been caught trying to cheat by eliciting help from Ukraine and China. We have to be ready to raise hell when he starts trying to game the election to cheat out a win.
