But the cynical part of me thinks that this is another one of their strategies to kill off the public schools.

They'll say "See, we told you. Public schools are not safe!!! More money for charter schools and for-profit schools, Ms. DeVos!!"

These people have no bottom to their barrels.

I do not trust anyone with an R after his/her name to do anything ethical and/or moral and/or for the benefit of the general public.

11. About your killing off public schools idea...

The way Republicans think in this dark outlier of humanity is to use this opportunity to kill off the people who use the schools. And then shrug and say they have to close and sell many of them off. It's asset stripping, third world style.

Someone please let me know when the 21st Century gets here.

4. let me guess, he sends his kids to a private school?

or else maybe he doesn't have kids... other wise he would set the example showing his kids going back to school. OH yeah, no mask, no hand sanitizers, no social distancing... so when his kids end up on a ventilator and maybe die, than he will admit that maybe he had been wrong.

10. Gov. Ron DeSantis says he would have 'zero concern' sending his own kids back to school

Of course, his kids are toddlers, but if they were school age, he would have no problem sending them to the most crowded public school, because it is totally safe.

Gov. Ron DeSantis defended his controversial decision to send students back to school this August by telling conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh that he would have “zero concern” sending his own kids back into a classroom.

“My kids aren’t school-age yet,” DeSantis said. “I got a 3-year-old daughter, 2-year-old son, and a newborn daughter. And I can tell you if they were school-age, I would have zero concern sending them.”

The remark came Wednesday during an interview on the nationally syndicated Rush Limbaugh Show. There, DeSantis detailed his rationale for reopening schools despite the resurgence of COVID-19 cases in Florida.

“With respect to the schools,” DeSantis said. “Walmart, essential service. Home Depot, essential service. Fast food, essential service. “How is it that the schools for our kids would not be considered an essential service? And I think it’s vital. I think that they’ve fallen way behind.”
