8. As much as I detested his political leanings (neo-liberal)...

he kept the cartels mostly in check (there's a long history of why/how this happened in Mexico), and Mexico was safer for it. He's a great speaker too, I got to see him when he came to speak at University of Oklahoma while I was doing my PhD in Mexican history (I didn't meet him but my doctoral advisor did). He seems like a good guy in the grand scheme of things. Also he's funny as hell.
