(246 posts)When I saw the guy unplugging his own life support I lost it. That was hilarious! This little film was genius.

(38,334 posts)Really good, although...
...for the "what's your excuse?" line, the coma should have been for a quarter century.
This was obvious for a lot longer than 3 1/2 years.

(25,729 posts)and the dems. I think it's easier to convince people the way they are doing it in the ad.
I am a nurse. I LOVED the doctor and the nurse in this ad. The subtle no lines walk out of the room thing was great. Pulling the plug when he is only on an oxygen mask was hilarious, too.

(38,334 posts)...because TLP can penetrate chinks in conservative info-armor.
That's great, but they can do that because they spent their careers welding that armor together.
This is an ad that needs to be built upon, but The Lincoln Project won't do that because they're anti-Trump but not anti-Republican.
So you can understand why I like it, but feel the need to highlight where it decides to drop the ball.

(15 posts)My first ever reply/post, though I have lurked for years. As a Canadian, I always thought it inappropriate to comment on American politics, as we also have an ugly racist history. 66 years as a socialist, feminist, atheist (and in some circles 'that mouthy broad') shaped my political views daily. Some have moderated with time, while others have become even more determined. I watched and read and cried about the American civil rights movement, through the eyes of your media. Like you, I remember they day JFK was assassinated with sadness and horror. I marched with others in front of Edmonton's city hall, in solidarity with the anti-VietNam war protests. I cursed Nixon and that shit eating grin as he stood on the steps of the helicopter waving like a hero rather than the criminal off to his privileged life. But Reagan changed the world. He ensured that the poor of the world would be cannon fodder and slave labour forever. Neo Libs and neo cons divided up 90 % of the pie and their unlikely to be magnanimous about it now. And 911 became the excuse to create the police state to enforce it. The biggest bright spot was the election of Obama, but they kept a knee on his neck. And now......a daily deluge of 'what the fuck now's. To get back to this latest and powerful Lincoln Project ad, that demographic will kill you and yours if they aren't excised. Sadly, I fail to see how anything less than secession from that wide middle swath of your country can save you. They've got to go. I might be wrong but I don't think so.

(39,304 posts)I'm glad you decided to join and begin posting. We welcome like-minded individuals, no matter where you live. The thing currently infesting the White House has been a global tragedy, not just an American one. Please keep speaking your mind. I hope it doesn't come to secession and that demographics overtakes the MAGAts.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
