(100,133 posts)...fair amount of drugs. The amount of creativity alone tells me theres soul at work.
I will never be there in person, for many reasons. Just one: thanks to my Irish heritage I fry in the desert sun like a slice of bacon. Also, Im too old.
But from what Ive read of it, it is quite the event.
By the way, twat just isnt an acceptable word at DU last time I checked. Please do not bother to tell me how the Brits love to sling the word around and that it doesnt mean what we think it means yadda yadda. We arent in the UK. Thank you.

(29,685 posts)If that's the case I don't see how it can really cease to be, but I was under the impression it had been more or less.hijacked by influencers.

(20,811 posts)It got so popular even long-timers couldn't come back. If I were younger I'd love to experience Burning Man, but my creature comforts are something I can't leave behind now. The artistic talent on display is amazing. Don't let the naysayers get to you. It's not for everyone, but I don't see how anyone can condemn it if they haven't experienced it.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
