Related: About this forum"Christians" are saying this kid is a hero. Here is a second by second video of the shootings
by NBC Now. It is very clear from the video that the people approaching him were trying to get his gun away. They are saying that he had already shot someone but I don't know about that.

(52,714 posts)which he carried illegally, so I think that's going to be the key. Those in pursuit had a right not to be shot, or allow another person to be shot, regardless.

(10,749 posts)Isn't this along the lines of the apocryphal story of a child he kills his parents and throws himself on the mercy of the court because he's an orphan?
The self defense was against people who were trying to capture him after he killed one person.

Had no business in Kenosha during a protest that we have heard yet, other than to agitate.
Knew there was violence or he wouldn't have brought a gun
Then went looking for trouble on the streets
Shot someone and calls someone to report it. Standing there calmly telling someone about it. 911? His mother? His fellow agitators?
Then shoots more people who are unarmed and want his gun and to stop him.
and was probably violating the law having a weapon. I have been seeing he was not old enough to have a gun in WI.

(53,410 posts)what appears to be pre-mediated actions. He had to travel to another town to do whatever his intent was. He chose to take a loaded weapon and then he chose to use it. He created the escalated conflict in which he became afraid for his life.
This reminds me so much of George Zimmermans actions and defense that I wonder if theres some loophole this little shit can escape through.
In edit, I just looked up if Wisconsin has a stand your ground law, and it doesnt.

(3,176 posts)As someone who professes Christianity, their support and sympathy is appalling and horrifying. I'm dreading going back into any church because I know that many around me will feel that way. At least I know there are others that get it (check the end of this video).
Sadly too many people can read a document and never quite understand it. I had a co-worker who was Baptist and we were in a dispute on a policy issue. We both read the same document and it was amazing to hear the suppositions and additions that he added to the document that clearly were not there. Sadly he is also a federal marshal, so I'd hate to be on the other end of any of his actions because he just makes shit up. But I wonder how much his religion influenced or enabled his tendency to do so.

(785 posts)And some Christians have the nerve to call him a "hero" when Jesus in the Bible preached "love" and was against "hate"!
