Keeping it simple for the uninformed is a good message, I guess, even though its a bit insulting to the rest of us.

And I resent that the Lincoln Project thinks they do. I'm betting they have never been to KY.

But they do know Mitch, I'll give them that.

My cousins outside of Owensboro do...... my Aunt in Sacramento does as well as my ex-step grandmother from Harlan county and my sister in Mount Washington too. I don't think I do but I've lived in Michigan and Colorado for most of my life and am told I have a "southernish" accent.

That is exactly how the "refined", "southern style" Kentucky people like to think they sound. Texanish (which is, I think, the imitators origin) is an imitation. The true Kentucky accent is not so smoooooth and more likely to be punctuated with harder "r's" and multi-syllabled middles and twangy endings to words.

But you're right, Bayard, it is an un-imformative message. Won't matter a whit in Kentucky where voters there may just be getting a bit put out with their place as the butt of so many well-deserved jokes. They WILL swallow their pride and vote Democrat if they blame McConnell for their shame.
