it reminded me of Albert Speer saying he cried when he heard that Hitler had committed suicide, even though he understood to some extent by this time what a monster Hitler was. He'd even plotted to kill Hitler, yet wept when Hitler died.

That's the power of evil, the ability to corrupt so many to do such awful things. Trump is the awful answer to all those who said, "It can't happen here."
