(13,547 posts)in their sports, get rid of all the military BS and other patriotic hooha. It was after 9/11 they started using the games as promo for recruiting and made the players com out for the anthem.

(6,908 posts)Like all good hypocrites, they love politics in sport as long as its their politics.
There is nothing patriotic about sports of any kind. Enough with flyovers, the anthem, the whole ridiculous shtick. Just play the damn games.

(13,547 posts)I bet all the money they spend whipping up the nationalistic patriautism would be a pretty good bump if they gave it to the recruits.

(5,092 posts)Why did they boo? I will tell you. Because they honestly think that the player monkeys should shut up and go entertain them. Now! This pandemic has been very enlightening as far as how the public really views all of the 'bastions' of this society, as pertains to the people who man/operate/perform in them. Anyone who can still tell me with a straight face that there is no class system in this country is delusional and needs to open their eyes. Sports figures, grocery store clerks, gas attendants, etc, are all just monkeys that need to shut up and perform for the 'real people'. (You think that's harsh? Then, you have not been paying attention to the drama created by the 'haves' and 'wanna haves').This is the stuff that needs to be fixed before we can even think about progress.

(50 posts)The socially distanced fans in the stands were likely the elite from KC. Most seats for these Covid times gladiator matches are going to season ticket holders. A lot of season tickets are held by corporate entities. You can be sure the boss didn't give tickets to the season opener away to the football pool.
This was your boss telling you what they think of you.
They let us know how much they care for us "essential workers".
They have established their expectations for their "entertainers".

(6,928 posts)At least for the seats that a friend of his had in a block of six. He's a die hard Chiefs fan like me and he attends 2-3 games per year but said hell no to those prices.
That game seemed like some kind of slow motion to me and more resembled a Pro Bowl game IMO. It was just weird but that's how it will be this year.

(2,689 posts)Trump's misAdministration has revealed to America what we really are. These boo-ers are the part of us that itches on a hot summer's day when you're working in the yard and your sweaty underwear clings to your crotch.
Those boos, in other words, came from the sweaty crotch of America. Used to be, America kept its sweaty crotch hidden from the world -- or mostly hidden. Thanks to Trump, it is now how the world sees us, a big, overheated, sweaty nether-part (this is DU or I'd use more colorful descriptors).

(2,689 posts)--- And I say that feeling, really feeling, that America hasn't the time remaining to right its course. In 4 long years the man in the White House has caused so much erosion at the very base and foundation of America's vision and aspirations to equality and greatness that I don't think the rest of the house can do anything but crumble.
Yes, I'm voting for Biden. Yes, I think Biden would love to repair the idea of America that Trump has shattered. But, sadly, I also feel like Biden's job will be like all the king's horses and all the king's men confronted with the pieces of Humpty Dumpty.

(8,200 posts)Its demise should be universal and most importantly including local and state positions. It is the major contributor to the lack of progress not only in regard to racism, but virtually every aspect of that requires progress enlightened legislation.

(8,200 posts)We have been warned time and time again that we are in serious jeopardy of losing our basic freedoms to the Republican party that has undergone a transformation that is as dangerous as the Nazis were to Germany. When 40% of the electorate has been propagandized to accept the most bizarre conspiracy nonsense and outright lies and distortions the nation is in a serious if not fatal state. The election my very well prove to be the tipping point regardless of the outcome. It may very well become the case of the necessity of the interference of the military to prevent a radicalized Republican party from prevailing regardless of the outcome. I really fear what may be in the future for our nation. I can only hope that my fears are unfounded and the "Rise and Fall of Third Reich" is not being reenacted.

(6,928 posts)They of course want blacks to entertain them and they LOVE all the fake ass Military fly over "patriotism" while a load of them hid out during VN just like Trump but the buck stops there.
The Hunt family that owns the franchise should be humiliated and pissed off to have that happen on national TV at Arrowhead and clearly heard.

(15 posts)The KC fans did not boo the teams for their disapproval of the (Unity) moment of silence. The fans booed when the Texas team returned to the field, after the playing of the songs.
The Texas team ran into the locker room and would not come out until the songs - Lift Every Voice and Sing and the National Anthem was played - then they returned to the field. That's why they were booing, because they wouldn't stay on the field during that time.
The booing for the moment of Unity or Silence is just false.
They are just trying to stir up sh*t, just like tRump.
