so maybe there is an audit?

I will wait to get all the details before predicting which parts of this report are going to spell actual trouble for him. (Hopefully a lot!)

9. But an audit doesn't prevent you from releasing taxes. In fact...

...if he were going to release them at all, there's an argument that he'd be better off releasing them before the audit was completed. You don't do a new return after an audit, it's the same return. The audit documentation just adds all the ways the IRS decided you were wrong, which I suspect will rarely turn out to be to Trump's benefit.
