most likely never to return to national power and with the right way to take back state and local elected offices, force them out of power in 40 of the 50 states

But I am skeptical. Not that they will lose in November, but that they will disappear from national prominence. I have thought that before. And they come back.

At least if they lose this election we will lose him and allow us some chance to fix a some of the insanity.

This is a slogan that transcends ideological liberal / conservative battle lines. It is a slogan that affirms that both liberals and conservatives, both Democrats and Republicans, are capable of serving their country well if they put country ahead of party, and also if they submit their own ideological positions on the issues to the test of pragmatic realism. I still have great faith that both sides of the spectrum when it comes to political ideology still have valid and important contributions to make to the life of our nation. After all the craziness dies down, I hope that the Republican party - that is, if it survives and is not replaced by some other party, as the Whigs were replaced by the Republicans themselves - will buckle down to the serious task of governing and representing their constituents.

Out of all the commentators that I watch Steve Schmidt is clearly heads and above the others.

He is smart, quick, knowledgeable, etc.

They will be even scarier.

I almost don't want to imagine. Because people like Schmidt will lose credibility with Republicans. They love a winner. Fox News will be gloating big time. And the R party will then shed every last moderate, and create a true Fascist State.

But if what we want happens, and Biden wins, especially if its a landslide, i think the R party will go to war with each other. The Frankenstein that they have created with the red caps will NOT like that Steve Schmidt, Rick Wilson, Michael Steele, among others helped the other side win. And will push hard against them. While the moderates, and never-Trumpers will, hopefully, trying to reestablish themselves in leadership positions. What would be great is if the red caps created their own party to run in 2024 to compete with the traditional R party. I can see this, even nominating Trump as their leader. (If he's not in prison)
