(67,782 posts)....in Brooklyn rightly invoke religious freedom and it's NOT in the name of bigotry and discrimination. Same thing for Reformed Jews and Muslims in Queens, again not in the name of bigotry and discrimination. And other religious groups/religions in the "outer boroughs" of New York City.
Anyone from New York City, like myself, would be aware of that.

(15,383 posts)Because she included herself among this people of faith who do wish to clothe the poor, feed the hungry, and care for people's health.
If you consider Pat Robertson, or Falwell Jr, Creflo Dollar, or Jim Bakker, then AOC is right on point. Jesus would castigate them for hypocrisy, because they aren't Christians, really, in terms of adhering to the actual message of Christ found in Matthew, Chapters 5-8, are they?

(15,383 posts)She is characterized often, even here, as being a total radical, but I'm not seeing it her.
And, yes, I know about the 'primary' thing, and her support of Bernie, and God knows I'm not trying to step on those toes.
But I will not be apologetic about liking AOC or her message.

(13,340 posts)What they actually want is the government to legalize their religious privilege, which of course the would deny to any other religious groups, such as Muslims. They define their freedom as a free pass to ignore discrimination laws.
