1. How did we end up here

President Obama made clear without saying it just how far we have fallen in the last four years - brilliant mind and superb orator. Historians will be hard pressed to explain how a country that elected this man twice then chose a sideshow clown as his replacement - and may choose him again. How far we have fallen

2. He said how we got here in his speech.

He said that the highest turnout -- his own election -- only turned out 61% OF VOTING AGE ADULTS.

He explained their demographics -- poor, women, POC, young people.

We weren't theorizing here; we knew.

5. I appreciated the way Obama talked about the falling unemployment rate.

The way he used his hand to show how the unemployment rate fell during his time in office and shot way up this year under trump. More Democrats need to talk about that the way Obama did. That was good effective communication.

This was new on his stump speech. Pointing to at least one thing that's important to that battleground state is crucial in any stump speech, and there were definitely a few variations in this one. I forgot that he made that important point.

In covid exile here in Florida, I mostly remember when he said, "Florida Man. Even Florida Man doesn't behave like that!" I fell out.

But yeah, anytime he or Biden show they have a command of employment or other numbers, their credibility goes way up. People want smart, honest presidents, not presidents who just say they're smart, then hide what they do.
