it gives them a chance to meet and associate with other people who legitimize their own thoughts and attitudes.

The constant manipulation of their lives from external sources also makes them paranoid and resentful, but subconsciously.

It means they have never really enjoyed or understood freedom.

They hate everyone who doesn't support their beliefs because it makes them uncomfortable that there could be an alternative way of thinking.

It means they have been sold a fraud, and they can't admit that.

So rather than admit they're not very bright, they double down on their own perfection, which causes rigid-minded intolerance and hatred of "the other".

It's an elaborate train of thought and needs some refinement, but you get the drift.

Thanks for this video.... Very informative in a short amount of time.

A good friend of mine believes in QANON. I don't think it's a typical cult but I still consider it one. I keep putting off her phone calls (she moved to AZ last year and I'm in L.A.). Her daughter (who's in her 40's) called me on Monday night. She's flipped out because she was telling me that she finally had to just hang up on her mom in the middle of a conversation because of the crazy nonsense she was spouting...I told her that I knew and that I haven't even been able to speak with her mom for over a week. I've been getting some information together about the complete implausibility and the logistical impossibility of QAnon to see if I can reason with her. The daughter said that she's already tried and that it won't do any good...

As far as the dt supporters are concerned, that's an effing cult! Thank God my close friends here in CA are all progressives and think dt is a lunatic! Most of my childhood friends in TX are dt supporters but we haven't had close friendships since I've live in CA for 32 years. I have had to defriend several on FB.

It's so f upped.....

So people seek it in the wrong places in the wrong ways.
To me, not much different than people buying friends by joining a fraternity.

I just have to wonder if after the election we'll get wrapped up in political witch hunt Benghazi hearings, as if suddenly the priority for the GOP will be make covid deaths Biden's fault.
