Can we heal? Is this really about politics?

I'm one who has had to leave friends and family behind because of racism they tried to disguise as politics. They're so morally bankrupt that they don't get that it isn't about politics, yet I'm the one demonized for putting politics over family. I can talk politics with people I disagree with all day long. I have no problem with that. What I can't abide is hate and a gleeful relishing the pain in another's struggle. I cannot abide by abject cruelty and a depravity that puts screaming about our rights over actually being a responsible citizen ensuring that everyone within our borders are granted those same rights.

Millions of people were okay with the destruction of families on the border.
Millions of people were okay with 1400 missing children and 500 missing adults.

Now, everyone is hailing this as a moment of healing. I'm not sure I can unless and until there is a reckoning for America's crimes.
