(205,033 posts)A lot of people expected him to take over as host after Jon Stewart left The Daily Show, but I remember reading that John did not enjoy covering Trump - which would be pretty much all he'd be doing if he was on daily covering the latest news. On his weekly show, he was able to cover numerous overlooked topics in depth, but over the past few weeks the transgressions of the Trump administration during the election season have been impossible to ignore - and I think he's done a stellar job, no big surprise.

As usual, I watched the show and posted the video as soon as it was available, and I knew this was the Season Finale (and not coming back till February?!), but I didn't realize until now that they'd uploaded the actual conclusion separately - and not until today. So thanks and I should probably add it to the OP...
