But these days I'm back to keeping up with MSNBC since what's going on is so important now, though I share your anxiety, I figure it's essential to know.

I appreciate it! I know a long time ago, you conversed with my wife, World Peace (?).....she passed 2 years ago, but was a proud Democrat and DU poster to the end....

I first knew her as WWW (Win Without War), but so much has happened since then, the hack and all, but I was sure that I'd run across her here sometime again. She was one terrific DUer, I agree!

Even when we divorced in 2013, we were still connected.....for a long time, about the only thing we agreed on was the value of DU, the posters we engaged with, and the common political ground we shared.

And I remember early exchanges with you, as well. We once challenged DUers to come up with a photo of any Bush with any member of the Saudi royal family! Little did we know back then what was to come!

And especially my very first DU friend, newyawker99, who welcomed me on my very first post! I had never been on any sort of message board before, I kind of panicked when I got a reply, LOL. But that may have made all the difference since I knew I was among friends. Think that was January of 2003 and I can't express all the gratitude I have for all I've learned here - and continue to learn - and the awesome DUers I've gotten to know...

She was indeed awesome, kept track of DU Milestones, which meant so much, and she was one proactive mod as well. There have been lots of discussions about where she went, but even the admins don't know. We did know that she wasn't well back then, so it's likely that's the reason. But its a testament to her contributions that she's still missed!

My internet life starts and stops with LBN. After a few beers, I even post. But DU has helped me make sense of this crazy political world that we are stuck on, as we restart the continuous process of fixing what Republicans keep breaking.

And I say that intentionally since I've served as a mod, a host and on MIRT with several amazingly informed international members! Even when I couldn't deal with all the Trump news in 2015-2016, I still stuck with DU since I still needed the information - and the camaraderie! Little did we know back when we were shocked and devastated over the 2004 election what the future would bring and I'm grateful to have found my home on DU.

I never would have imagined that we'd end up with the likes of Trump - an ignorant, offensive blowhard - but I should have learned never to misunderestimate the gullibility and ignorance of this number of the American people. As we know, those in other countries get it! But it's my best hope that this dangerous and deplorable episode serves as the means to ignite the very real change that we need - so that we never face such a frighteningly low point again!

He doesn't get the attention as some other MSNBC contributors, but he is as experienced and informed as they come and we need to pay attention!
