Memo to Trump: 'Drop Your Hopeless Lawsuits That Are Tearing At The Heart of American Democracy'

Rev. Al Sharpton gives the president a history lesson in past presidential transitions. Committed to fighting election results, the Trump administration has filed dozens of post-election lawsuits. They have all been rejected.

for law and order and accountability, history 4 years from now will remember Trump as simply deluded as much as stupid. Using fifth rate lawyers to argue in state and federal Supreme Courts is a lot different than sending your fixers for permitting on housing developments in the inner city.

If we are lucky.

There are two things we know for sure about Donald Trump, and what makes him tick:
1) It's all about him, and not at all about the country; after all, he suffers from malignant narcissism.
2) More than just about any other person I know, even those who are richer than him, Trump is driven by money.

Regarding the first point, if Trump let 300K people die from this pandemic, which happened in an election year, because it might interfere with his re-election plans. do you really think he's going to care about the political niceties of a peaceful transition of power?

Regarding the money angle, Trump has discovered that he has millions of fervent supporters who he can milk shamelessly for an endless supply of cash, just as long as he continues to proclaim to them that he is fighting to overturn what he, and they, see as a corrupt and stolen election. Not only is the pursuit of money the prime motivator for Donald Trump, but heck - it could come in mighty handy for paying off all the loans and debts that will be coming due for him. Ideally, this is a fundraising cash cow that Trump will try to keep alive and milk forever, if at all possible.

In addition, Reverend Al, merely castigating Donald Trump for being a sore loser and not being a sensible adult will not make him be one. It's very hard to get someone to make such a radical change, especially if they're over 70 years old.
