3. It does appear that the Republican Party has created an alternate reality.

Truth is merely a matter of accidental coincidence in this fantasy land.
Back in the time of George "W" Bush, someone in his administration bragged that they created reality. True, they did, but we all do that. It's the nature of the reality they create that sets them apart.
Their reality is fiction spun as fact; a land of polar opposites where truth is what they decide it is...a land of nonsensical "logic" that whirls off into insane edicts that are put forth as real facts.
A land where there is no backing down from even the most outrageous lies.
A land where projection is used to brand their enemies with the very traits and actions they themselves possess and are guilty of.
It's an upside reality. A land of darkness portrayed as light.
A land where hate is love and love is hate.

This is what the Republican Party sees as the future of America.
It's a dark future indeed.
A scenario we have already seen play out during the 1930's and 40's in Germany and Italy.
And we all know how that turned out.
Winston Churchill said, "Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeated it".

We can't let that happen here.

That they would even entertain this idea, and guest, as a serious, legitimate ploy. And that they would not see actively helping to protote this ongoing losing battle being a bad thing for democracy, and for the country's confidence in it.
