1. Thanks. HURTS the heart to realize we keep getting pulled backward into hatred and ignorance.

MLK died in pursuit of The Dream. He wasn't perfect, but he stood up and spoke truth to power. That means the rest of US despite our flaws, need to pick up the mantle and go forward even though the nation is in a mood to lynch DEMOCRACY itself.

IT HURTS to KNOW HOW MUCH HAS BEEN SACRIFICED OVER AND OVER AGAIN, but it's good to remember that there IS a way forward after each horrible setback.

I came to the realization that the MAGA group wanting "HEALING" is them trying to MAKA AMERICA "GREAT" like it was before the Civil War when "they" ruled and the rest of US knew our place. THEIR idea of healing is getting back the rotten gangrene limb that was cut off the US to save our country from being ruled by the tyranny of White Supremacy.

I am not black, but I have a lot more in common with people who have been forced to live in the margins of life due to not being born a white man, I am a woman. I STILL don't face 1/100th of what black people face daily but I SEE IT. I fight it. I HATE IT.

It's like watching your father rape your sister and feeling relieved and guilty and horrified when you take a cast iron skillet and hit him hard enough to make him stop. MY Country is a screwed up place sometimes. I do not, will not justify those who dishonor the promise of freedom to any one just because they can. BUT HOW can people be this way in the first place?

WE ARE ONE RACE. THE HUMAN RACE. The police who killed George Floyd in the street killed a member of OUR FAMILY. WE ARE ONE PEOPLE. YOU CAN NOT MURDER ANY ONE OF US WITHOUT TAKING AWAY OUR FAMILY.

IT HAS TO STOP.

IT MUST STOP.

GOD. MAKE IT STOP.

2. The Lincoln Project Got Dr. King's Birth Year Wrong.

It was not 1921 - it was 1929. The other posting today on this website was correct. Both Anne Frank and Dr. Martin Luther King were born in 1929. I just looked up Dr. King's birthday online.

6. And like (I think) Chris Hayes said tonight, it's possible that they could both still be with us now

I cannot imagine what they would think.

3. Citizens in the US use more of the planet's resources per capita than any other nation on Earth.

Hundreds of times more than the poorer nations. Some nations' economies depend on the recycling of their waste.

Until this blatantly evil imbalance is addressed by correction, the hopes of Dr. King and all who hope with him will remain only dreams.

Living only in Job-esque stories told to children.
