(297,503 posts)have been asking on here.. why the low level charges!!
And, the part about how it's determined if they're released or not is very interesting!
I think if I were one of those Insurrectionists I wouldn't be very comforted by GK's information here.

(5,674 posts)Thanks yomama! I bookmarked for time and WiFi
He says he does dailies. Gonna follow.
Also, I am memorizing the lines from Joes Inaugural speech that Glenn recites. That was the best part of the speech imho.
Thanks again!

(397 posts)But if I were a judge, faced with someone accused of kicking down the doors of the Capitol building, assaulting numerous police officers, erecting a gallows and calling for the deaths of congressional and senate and even the Vice President, I might have suspicions that these people may have a problem respecting the terms and conditions of bail. Especially since we know at least one of them used her non-custodial bail, to go home and destroy evidence, while encouraging others to do the same.
Its also a fair bet, that if these standards were applied to all arrestees, Rikers would be empty

(108,136 posts)Glenn does a good explaination of why and it has nothing to do with race. Though he does acknowlege that a person of color probably would be treated more harshly.
