Republicans Acquitted Trump Again. Now They're Stuck With Him. - Joy Reid - MSNBC

With Trump acquitted thanks to a majority of Senate Republicans, is the GOP going to remain the party of Trump? MSNBC's Joy Reid discusses with Charlie Sykes and Jason Johnson.

He'll not only be older and even less healthy, but it boggles the mind to imagine how much more his intellect will have deteriorated by then, he makes little enough sense now as it is. The attention span in this country is brief and I can't imagine his "following" will endure for that long.

As for those like Cruz who think their insane loyalty to Trump will help them secure a 2024 nomination - have they not been paying attention?? Trump's intention was to remain POTUS for life so it's not like he'd be willing to step aside and support any of his acolytes.

Lacking that, he'll maybe try to get more cash handed to him, and strongarm potential candidates for endorsements. He takes pride in being the leader of a large, violent rabble, and he's addicted to easy money.

Or maybe he'll just fade away. That would be great. I hope you're right.
