The kind that wails about family values and "protecting your (white) family's savings from populists giving it all away to (brown) layabouts!" (a standard RW refrain south of the border)

And is later found to have stashed millions in Panama, Miami, or Luxembourg.

People like Cruz, Rubio, and Ileana Ros are a problem because they they import the worst of Latin American politics: nepotism and corruption for me; but inquisition (or worse) for thee.

And they're very determined to impose these ways on the U.S body politic if they can. They see traditional U.S. politics as naive - almost gullible, and easy to manipulate with a little flag-waving.

Like Putin does.

I understand the sentiment here, I really do. But aren't we falling right into their trap when we say that things like this are somehow "socialist"? Shouldn't we try to push back against all those socialism claims?

Government using its money to help its citizens isn't socialism. Paying taxes isn't socialism. Fire departments and police aren't examples of socialism. Sidewalks and public parks aren't socialism. Even universal healthcare isn't socialism.

Socialism is a system whereby the government owns the means of production, and everyone is an employee of that government. As far as I know, there isn't a single Democratic politician who advocates for anything like that.

do not really fit a definition of socialism. But the Traitor Party calls ALL public services socialism in their push for privatization of those same public services. But their version of privatization is government contracts with private companies, making those companies government welfare recipientd, AKA corporate welfare. What they really want is to have the power and control of public services in the hands of conservative individuals and businesses and have the public pay them their salaries through tax supported contracts.

They are bottom feeding scum hoping that by calling us socialists, nobody will notice their own nursing at the government nipple (that we pay for).

You have to start with the undeniable premise that there is no purely capitalist society in the world. Not only that, there never has been one, and there never will be.

The very best people like him can reasonably expect to achieve is a mixed economy, leaning towards capitalism. EVERY country on earth has some amount of socialism in their makeup.

What hypocrites.

If I recall correctly, one of the northeastern states needed help too at one point (I can't recall what for), and they mocked that request for help, and they also mocked Puerto Rico (hurricane) when it asked for help. NY needed help too in the initial CV outbreak w/ breathing apparatus, for it's very sick CV patients, and of course we all saw the moronic PINO deny any help to NY because they hurt trump's feelings. trump should be charged w/ murder w/ regards to his ignorance of the CV epidemic. He's was more worried about his election chances than people getting sick from the CV.

Like they say, don't say anything until you walked in someone else's shoes for a while. Does one think that they will learn? No. Even when rump made an enemies list. Even when rump made a distinction of serving red states first, showering them w/ cash, fed. aid, etc. vs. blue states.

Cruz was in a car that careened off the road in the ice storm, to flip, roll, and crash into a deep ravine.

Or if the weight of ice caused a tree to crash onto the roof of the building he was in, crushing him beneath it.

If such a catastrophe happened, we could rescue him before he died of his injuries, but only if it we were sure that it was constitutional. I think we would need a Dem vote to impartially determine that.
