2. Um....no. Not everybody can make good ads

and of course the founders used the money for their own production people, Rick Wilson, especially, has been doing this stuff for a very long time.

That they knew about Weaver and allowed it to go on is bad, but they were just being Republicans, the end justifies the means and all that fallacious bullshit.

Bottom line, these guys are not Democrats. They did manage to get under Dumdum's skin and he made a lot of mistakes a weasel like him might not ordinarily have made. For that I owe them gratitude.

If they manage to start The Lincoln Party, good luck to them. Anything that will sink the GQP is fine with me.

As for what they did with the money (none of it mine) is bury Dumdum in a blizzard of ads, all put out very quickly and calculated to drive him around the bend while trying to educate the "Facebook is my news source" crowd. They did a great job. Even if they'd managed to pry a few bucks loose from me, I'd figure I'd gotten it back in entertainment.

Weaver should have been gone sooner, yes, but these are Republicans.

I never donated either, but came close a few times and don't blame anyone who did. I think it did it's part to educate the "Facebook is my news source" crowd, as you said. Biden's win was so massive, it's hard to believe this didn't account for some of those votes.

Yes, they're republicans, but not Steve Schmidt, now a card carrying Democrat. I like listening to him, but he often sounds sad. I think he lives with deep regrets. I hope he gets through it.

13. I think the die was cast when Schmidt went from Indiie to Democratic

because TLP was always supposed to be a group of saner Republicans who'd had it with the bigots and Jebus Jumpers brought in by Nixon and Reagan, respectively. They wanted their party back, the decent but wrongheaded party of Eisenhower. Having gone over to the Democrats, Schmidt no longer fit the mission.

I doubt he'll be a pariah for long.

The GQP is irredeemable at this point, something TLP seems to realize. It will be interesting to watch what they morph into. Just don't think they're going to turn into Democrats. They won't.

3. I liked the ads, but I never forgot the part that they are republicans.

Steve Schmidt is now a democrat, really? He is bringing all his conservative republican mojo with him to influence our party. I don't like it.

their mind even more than them, to stop any further moving of Dems towards the center.

5. Of course Weaver should've been dumped immediately when found out.

I can't imagine why they thought this wouldn't come out. The goal was to get rid of trump so we can't take everything away from them as they did good ads that helped to do that. And "no" everybody can't make good ads.

Too bad it's all falling apart. Their credibility is shot so they might as well close up shop, or in republicanese...take the money and run, a whole lot of money.

6. I wonder when guys are going to realize that these harassing colleagues aren't worth the trouble.

Of course, they'll probably just blame "cancel culture" or something, but the truth is, many men with even small amounts of power have been abusing people forever, and they got used to getting away with it. They counted on their coworkers and bosses and friends just shrugging while more and more usually young people were hurt and driven away.

(Sure, a few women too-- Kim Guilfoyle comes to mind.

8. I was always skeptical of their ads, though several were outstanding, but most of them average

And I did question all along if they were just a bunch of right wing intellectuals patting each other on the back, and who was listening? Were they on network TV?

That being said, Steve Schmidt was the best 4 minutes most weeks to listen to, his commentary right on the money. But he did look troubled at times, mournful. I guess there was a lot going on.

9. TLP moved mountains to get Traitor45 out of the WH.

We shouldn’t forget that. It costs millions to produce the kind of ads they put out during the election and many more millions to buy time on mass media to reach the numbers of voters it takes to move the electorate. As a group, they blasted John Weaver’s harassment of young men including a minor male. There’s been no direct evidence discovered, so far, that Rick Wilson, Steve Schmidt and others knew of Weaver’s behavior. As of last night, TLP has released anyone involved with their organization from their NDA’s in an effort to get to the bottom of all of this. They’ve done a lot of good. We’ve had plenty of Democrats get into trouble over the years. I’m okay with giving them a chance to figure this out.

I don’t have the energy to dispute the gleeful I-told-you-sos. These guys at TLP have done something we could never seem to do for ourselves — in fact several things. I will be forever grateful.

They were some of the best ad makers around.

And I'm an old "mad man" myself.
