I've been seeing headlines, and have a friend in houston, but the pics are incredible.

question...is it so humid that the cold literally freezes the water in the air to everything? is that why there's ice in people's living rooms?

I live in the high sierra (6300') and it is actually a high desert, so not much water in the air up here, but cold is cold wherever you are! (last night it was 11, not too awful or out of ordinary, but damn...it sucks)

I was talking to my friend in houston and she says the worst part is due to power outages most grocery stores are either closed or food has gone bad or they are stripped clean of everything.SHe literally posted pics of completely empty freezers and shelves. She's mostly worried about food security at this point, her power has been off and is back now...her elderly mother and aunt have been w/o power fo 48 hours
