Making a note to myself to put the Suicide Prevention Hotline on speed dial in case I ever am compelled to spend that much time with Ted Cruz.

Or has he come to you? He must campaign somewhere, but chances are he'll give you a heads up!

3. He may have been within 10 miles of me when I lived in Irving about a decade ago.

However, I think that I've been able to maintain at least a fifty mile buffer zone from him over the last seven or eight years.

4. Well I can sympathize, I also want to avoid Elise Stefanik like the plague

I'd love to see my senators in person and I did see Kirsten Gillibrand once since she used to be my congresswoman, but after she became senator we did have Democratic representation for another term. I worked for and met her successor, Scott Murphy. He actually lives not far from me. But he won the first election and lost the second so we're a Republican district yet again.

6. My representative is a Republican and also a Southwestern University alum, Pete Sessions.

He used to represent the northwest Dallas suburbs before he was defeated by Colin Allred. Now he has set up shop in Waco to represent the district that stretches between College Station and Waco.

7. Oh, I remember him!

And I have a fellow alumni in the news as well! Tom Vilsack was a fellow graduate of Hamilton College as was his wife, Christie Bell (who also ran for public office, though she didn't win). I know he's not that popular here, but it is kinda cool to me since it was a pretty small school.
