Figliuzzi: Senate Asked All Wrong Questions About The Pro-Trump Attack On Capitol - The Last Word

Frank Figliuzzi joins Lawrence O’Donnell to discuss the questions lawmakers should ask after the first hearing about security failures that led to the Capitol riot failed to address key issues, including how racial bias impacted the police response to the threat: “We seem to collectively have a problem in this country… with seeing people who look like us as threats even when the threat and the intelligence is staring us in the face.” Aired on 02/24/2021.

I don't know him personally, but I have been impressed with his commentary about these national security issues. In video he clearly points out what many of us have said about police bias against black and brown protesters and their blind eye towards white protestors and white agitators with guns.

He was former assistant director for counterintelligence at the FBI so he's a valuable resource and I pay attention to what he has to say.

In this case, the problem is so obvious it smacks you right in the face. All those nice white people trying to overthrow the government. What could possibly go wrong?

Watching the events of January 6th was so unbelievable, it took me days to process what had happened. At the time, it was appalling that the rioters acted so entitled and lah-de-dah. As some pundit noted, it was like a tail gate party. And, no-one was arrested at the scene!!!!!

Entrenched and systemic racism is the greatest threat to our democracy. We must accept that reality. And, the reality that the Republicans are so afraid of their racist base they continually kowtow to the them.
