(10,279 posts)I'm voting for Johnson instead of Tuberville -- until Tuberville is discovered to have been one of Trump's coordinators of the attack by insurrectionists on the Capitol.

(12,568 posts)They should make sure the message gets to every Red state that it is their senator who is holding up the stimulus bill. Billboards, ads, opinion pieces in national and local media. Hammer the point home that the only reason you haven't gotten your check or shot is because the Republicans don't want you to have them. This should be the only thing Democrats talk about when they appear on political talk shows: "While I understand your question, the only thing that is important to the country is the Covid Relief bill, which has a 70% favorability rating among all Americans, Democrats, Republicans and Independents. Only the Republican Party is preventing the passage of the Covid stimulus. Here's what your audience isn't getting because of Republican actions in the Senate, which are designed to slow the inevitable passage of the bill. First, the $1400 relief checks, second, money for vaccines..."
Repeat the underlined point ad naseum, until it dominates the news and talk shows. Put pressure on big corporate donors to Repug senators. Threatening to boycott a company's product line if it continues to support a Republican senator would make a difference.
This bill must pass, and the Repugs must pay bigly for every day they delay it.

(1,944 posts)What really sucks is that the R's in the Senate are doing this out of pure spite. Every day they delay these things is another day their hate/propaganda machine can whine and complain about how the Biden administration is a failure. The fact that this is not true doesn't stop them- they are pushing the ridiculous lie about how Antifa/BLM is responsible for the Jan.6 insurrection so what's the big deal with another falsehood?
Johnson's tactics should be exposed to the citizens of Wisconsin and yes, the Dems need to hammer that message home every chance they get.

(6,315 posts)Johnson was born in Mankato, Minnesota, the son of Jeanette Elizabeth (née Thisius) and Dale Robert Johnson. His father was of Norwegian descent and his mother of German ancestry.[3]
Growing up, Johnson delivered newspapers, worked as a caddy at a golf course, baled hay on his uncle's dairy farm, and worked as a dishwasher in a restaurant.[4]
Before politics, Johnson was chief executive officer of a polyester and plastics manufacturer founded by his brother-in-law.[2]
Johnson rejects the scientific consensus on climate change, claiming that scientists who attribute global warming to human activity are "crazy" and the theory is "lunacy".
