So Oprah's big Harry/Meghan interview has the online rabble calling for the monarchy's demise. Here is one peasant's opinion.

I'm pretty sure that Trae is not aware that members of the royal family actually work and pay taxes. I don't know how commensurate the work they do is with the salaries they get, nor how appropriate the level of taxation is, but they are not totally freeloaders. The work they do would mostly - probably - be done by NGOs here, but someone would have to do it and would probably have to get paid to do it.

Interesting that Meghan uses the term "The Firm" and IIRC, Diana also did - I suspect it's a term with some standing.) Here in the U.S. it's "the firms" - large corporatins - who dictate much of our culture and far more of our economy. We are not so different.

IMO we need to fix our own nation before we start meddling with other coountries.
