2. The importance of this is hype-less.

It goes back to the rule of thumb one can always count on: if it originated as a Republican idea, it's good for Republican donors and bad for most people.

Like Obama Care, as much as they squalled about it, their constituency still liked it too much for them to remove it.

Reforming the Supreme Court should be the most important long term goal for every lawmaker. There are and have long been persons on that panel who misrepresented themselves at their confirmation hearings. It shouldn't be so impossible to envision their removal. Not necessarily impeachment. They're not immune from prosecution for lying under oath to the Senate. Simply let them perform their Supreme Court duties from a jail cell. Se how long it takes for the magic 67 votes for impeachment to appear.
