Where do all our easy and free online returns really end up? We bought products from Amazon and then returned them with tracking devices hidden inside to follow the trail. Next, we posed as buyers in the lucrative liquidation marketplace where we bid on a truckload of returned products. How much can we resell compared to what will get trashed?

(5,903 posts)almost always provides excellent coverage of various consumer issues. An episode on plastics went into WAY more depth than most US stories on the full extent of the problem.
While some of the issues they tackle are definitely more applicable to Canada and its laws, there is always information that US consumers can use, also.
Too bad that we don't currently seem to have any nationally telecast consumer shows of this caliber on this side of the border.

(7,920 posts)But why do people buy off Amazon, then change their mind?
Not an experienced Amazon buyer, only ever bought one item and I really wanted it. So no returns from me.
eBay is my preferred online shopping conduit, though.
Never had to return anything.
I guess consumers need to think twice before buying anything on line.

(484 posts)what was ordered was not what you received, poor quality of what was shipped, etc. Those are all the reasons Ive returned items to Amazon.
Havent, yet, had to return anything from ebay, but Im extra careful what I buy there. Make sure seller is highly rated and only buy bigger ticket items like used MacBooks or out-of-print books Im interested in.
