Former Vice President Al Gore served with Bill Clinton from 1993 to 2001, after serving as both a representative and senator from Tennessee. Since then, he founded the Climate Reality Project, won the Nobel Peace Prize, and wrote ‘An Inconvenient Truth,’ which was later turned into a documentary. At a recent climate rally in Memphis, Gore was introduced as ‘the father of the modern environmental movement.’ We talk to him about the climate crisis, environmental justice, voter suppression, the political will to make real change, and more.

could have accomplished and how the World today could possibly be a lot less hurtful and more humane; and could potentially have had us all so much much further down the road of Climate Mitigation.

And I'm not sure which period of time has scared me worse...

...in the oughts I was scared about the military violence and the safety of the World.

Since 2016, I am scared for Our Country and Our Democracy.

Thank the Goddess for DU.

Between a POTUS who did nothing except possibly spread discord and hate, accompanied by a global pandemic which was initially ignored in this country, these have been frightening times. But, thanks to DU, at least I've known the facts.

what they did to Al Gore.

I hadn't watched it before the 2000 election.. I was off on Kauai for the 1st time.. battling the aftermath of Hurricane Iniki in '92.

When I moved to upper state New York I get my first taste fo the what the US so called "media" was like. I was going crazy!

That's why I got a computer in 2002.. to join DU & get some real news.
