Then Spins Into High Praise For Vanita Gupta, Senate Rules Committee Chair Amy Klobuchar and Boston's New Mayor Kim JaneyLoosely quoted slam: "Vanita Gupta will be confirmed by the Senate ultimately... despite unified opposition to her led by the senator [John Cornyn] who she humiliated and exposed in Texas nearly twenty years ago for his enabling, encouraging, celebrating role in one of the worst, most racially explosive, astonishingly brazen law enforcement put up jobs in the last generation... his effort to get revenge on the woman who had to come in and fix his mess -- that effort will fail. And the backstory on Cornyn's obstructive spite and how Durbin isn't having it.

I had no idea of Vanita Guptas backstory. Just fascinating.

Especially when Rachel gets on the case, right?
To me it's also fascinating how she can show the spite of the Manchins and Cornyns that good people must suffer, and how she shows them up for the venal lawyers and ugly politicians they are.

(43,162 posts)6. Right? Can't tip their opposition, though.
I can only hope that the reason McConnell showed up at the Rules Committee Meeting today with Schumer is that he's trying to spy on what they're up to because he's scared out of his wits about what they're going to do if they have to.
