There was s meme going around several years ago that compared Trump's home with Saddam Hussein's palace. It was hard to tell the difference.

This kind of thing blows me away, Earl. I mean, how much does one person need?

This lust for wealth and power is such an illusion. In the end, all such things leave behind is emptiness.

Plus, that is some SERIOUS bad taste.

me neither. Companies still downsized, moved jobs overseas, and rich people kept their windfall profits.

...it would take you close to 32 years. A million, by contrast, would take you between 1 and 2 weeks. A billion is a gigantic number.

Feel not a scintilla of regret or empathy for someone who counts their wealth in billions. The "trickle down" effect we are supposed to experience is merely the crumbs they unwittingly sweep off their table.

I live in Houston, where the roads are horrendous. When I talk to my well-off friends about low tax Texas and its inferior roads, they just say, "You need a big truck, that's all."

and past dictatorships.

Commonalities:

Becoming Ruler for Life? Check.

Peasants get nothing, top end gets everything? Check

Opposition gets rough treatment, mock trials and jail sentences, poison, just disappear? Check

Just as well the American voters woke up in time. It was a close call.

Like all past dictators, they ignore one factor. How it ends. Most of the time.

Trump is already penniless, and calling for donations from his shrinking base.

Trump is already in prison, inside his head, endlessly replaying that tape of 'I was great, what went wrong? Who to blame?'
That would drive a sane man mad, but Trump was never one of those.

Keep him isolated, and he will shrivel up and die in his own time.
