I supported Senator Warren in the primaries, and her student debt policy. But I can not ignore the fact that candidate Biden rejected it, outright, as did Mayor Pete for that matter.

Biden has said he will sign whatever Bill Congress sends him on student debt - 50K or even all of it - but he won't cancel more than 10K by executive order.

Both she and Senator Sanders - my other favorite - have supported this right along. And I've also kept a close eye in this issue - my friend just graduated with a Masters in social work last year and has significant debt. She's currently working two jobs and things are tough, this would be such a relief for her. And I remember President Biden saying he'd sign it - I'm just hoping that Congress sends him a significant bill!

(Other than health, which sunk her)

But the thing is - I wanted a woman. Nothing could have been a stronger renunciation of Trumpism - that a woman's worth comprises plastic looks and family connections. What a message that sent out to girls - if you want to succeed, start out by getting a boob job!

(having said that) I am more than happy with VP Kamala Harris. More than happy.

When McConnell shut her down during her reading of Coretta Scott King's words. That was a terrific example of "she persisted." When I took that "Who do you side with" test, she came in first for me and then-Senator Harris, who I didn't know much about yet, came in fourth, so I knew that she was an excellent choice, too. And I agree, we've needed a woman for a very long time - just look at the job Nanny Pelosi has done! It totally boggles the mind!
