(relatively quickly). And she has (also relatively quickly) had the applicable charges laid against her. So it's not exactly like LE is getting a big pass on this one.

Officer messed up (big time), and admitted to it immediately. Kid is still dead. It serves no purpose to continue the drumbeat that this was an intentional killing.

clear it was an accident. At best, the policeperson is going to lose their job.

I honestly believe most police have to be thinking that it's not worth going through the publicity, being branded a killer, losing their job and perhaps future employment, maybe facing prison time, etc., now that so many are wearing cameras. The days of pulling someone over and beating them, raping them, killing them is coming to an end.

Plus, there are too many surveillance cameras and people with phones to get away with it much longer.
