Inherit the Wind is a fictionalized account of the 1925 Scopes "Monkey" Trial, which took place between July 10 and July 21, 1925, and resulted in John T. Scopes's conviction for teaching Charles Darwin's theory of evolution to a high school science class, contrary to a Tennessee state law.

Even though I have seen it a lot, I still enjoy watching it again and again.

Good thing I'm not a teacher in Arkansas.

Years ago, I went to a play featuring the Scopes Trial in the courthouse where the trial actually took place in Dayton/Rhea County, Tennessee.

Apparently, it still occurs (although it was cancelled in 2020 because of the pandemic....not sure about this year). If I recall, there is a festival during this time that occurs each July in Dayton commemorating the trial, and the play is one of the feature attractions.

It was an amazing experience. Here's a video advertising the play (I am not in any way affiliated with the play or festival!):

upon state in its democratic institutions. AR can join the other backward states with this shit.

74 million or more. That's who we're dealing with.
