From what I could see it was just a white flag, not the infamous stars and bars that is alleged to be the confederate battle flag.
Maybe that briefly shown, white rag was just a a white flag of surrender, which is what the southern traitors did at Appomattox to Gen. Grant.
And what there to be so proud of...the confederacy lasted for a scant four years and they lost decisively. Grant let them off easy as traitors, Lee and all the rest of the generals and high office holders, are usually hung by the neck until dead.
