(2,690 posts)Rick Wilsons point -- with which I agree -- is that a GOP House will do everything in its power to stop the Administration from doing anything. They will impeach Biden not just one time but several times just to keep the pot boiling, and to give the corporate-fascist mouth pieces at Fox, Newsmax, etc., a constant stream, a flood, of choice lies and disinformation to feed their viewers.
Remember, the GOP is in business for itself, not for the country. If it cant rule the nation and get done what ir and its greedy plutocratic donors want, its next best option is to prevent the Biden administration from doing anything of substance.

The MTGs of this world want all of us dead.
When millions on the so-called left and Hillarys opponent made her out to be no different than Trump it was the beginning of the end of the United States of America

(1,105 posts)and Ms Clinton knew how much baggage she brought to the table justified, unjustified, real, not real. The truth is perception is all that matters and she, of all people, after her years in public service knows that better than most.
This country has not "changed" in the past four years. All that has happened is the Orange Menace yanked the band aid off the festering abscess of racism, misogyny, homophobia, and xenophobia that has been the country's curse since its inception. After eight years of a black man as president and then deciding the smart move to retain control of the WH would be to run any woman, much less Ms Clinton, shows just how totally out of touch the DNC was with the reality of this country.
It may not have been fair to have selected a white, male, candidate to run in 2016 but it would have been far more likely to have resulted in a win.
One thing is for certain, any illusions we've harbored about our nation have been stripped away. We've had our face rubbed in it and I hope we've learned from what we've seen. I can tell you this for certain. Had it not been for the horror of the past 4 years I would never have run for 1st Vice Chair (and won) of my county's Democratic Party.
Everybody steps up and does a little and we might get a better country out of all this for our kids and our grandkids.

(1,105 posts)I thought I made it abundantly clear that it doesn't matter whether her bad press was deserved or not.The only thing that matters in terms of winning elections is perception.
Let's try looking at it another way. You're attending University. I'm invited to be a guest lecturer for a Political Science class you're attending. I use the lecture as an opportunity to present a hypothetical question concerning a presidential election.
Here's the premise. The country has just had its first black president who has served two terms. During that time we've watched the other party do everything in its power to obstruct the president and stir up the country's darkest side. The party now has to make a decision as to who to chose as its candidate for the next election. One possibility is to run the first woman candidate who has an outstanding record, years of service and would do an excellent job. Unfortunately, through no fault of her own, she is a very divisive individual and one the opposition party will be able to stir up a tremendous amount of opposition due to years of unfair lies and false charges against her and because she's a woman. The party has other individuals it can call upon who will be less contentious figures and who could also do an excellent job in the office.
Assuming the party feels it is important to beat an opponent who is unqualified, loud, vulgar, divisive, a criminal with connections to the Mob and is a master at playing on the fears, anger, and worst aspects of the nation would you recommend the party select the woman as their candidate?

(2,187 posts)Trump is a criminal and a fascist wannabe dictator. All you have to do is open your eyes and ears to understand that.
Biden is none of the above.
Any impeachment of Biden will be seen by the sane majority as nothing more than another GOP attempt at a coup and I hope they destroy themselves in the process.
