1. Calling complete BS on the Amtrak joke.

You have to check it in luggage, just like on an airplane. You cannot carry a firearm on the train.

Same policy as every major airline. You declare it. It goes in your baggage, which is checked, you cannot carry it on board. They tag and bag your luggage, and you get it back at your destination.

2. And just when does Amtrak check for guns?

There may be a written policy about checking your gun, yeah, but if you wanted to shoot people would that really stop you from doing a little huntin'?

And of course, anyone interested in 'going hunting' isn't going to pay attention to a 'no firearms' policy anyway. So allowing lawful checked baggage firearms doesn't make anyone less safe at all, does it?
