First of all, it is a test for cognitive impairment (i.e. dementia) NOT IQ !
Second, only a person with an impairment would have difficulty recalling 5 words
immediately after they were spoken and then again 2 minutes later.
Third, the items are supposed to be unrelated and random. These are the words he
had to recall:
Person, Woman, Man, Camera, TV --
Are you fucking serious??!!
These are NOT random.
Person, woman and man are all related to each other, and they are just about the
easiest words ever to recall.
Camera and TV are also related to each other, and something he is accustomed to.
Notice the absence of any abstract words, keeping it concrete -- like his skull.
The fact that he could recall those is nothing impressive, nor does it reflect an exceptional mind.
Essentially, he was asked to recall 2 words.
As always, he is given the easy way out yet believes he aced the test. I hate him.
No competent MD or psychologist would have chosen those 5 words, ever.
Here's a valid sample of words: Pencil, watch, house, green, happy.
Most people don't know this. It has been driving me crazy since the story first came out.
