Were people paid to show up. That's what I assumed from the beginning. The only cache the Trump still has is that he still holds sway over these people. Which in turn allows his grift to continue in the form of contributions and whatever other means he uses to shake people down.

So paying people to show up would be a good investment. Really the only play he has left. Even DeSantis is moving on from Trump..
