I firmly believe that Biden and Garland have had a discussion and decided they are not going to let His term as President be about DT and holding in accountable for the crimes he committed. The DOJ is already projecting that they plane to defend DT in several on going trials. Like the E Jean Carrol trial, Muller report and there was a story that DOJ is getting set to defend DT on Jan 6 issues. What they don’t seem to realize is DT is already making everything in Biden’s term about him so Biden may as well cut DT loose and let go of this BS that they are not really defending DT but trying to protect the Office of the Executive and it just so happens defending DT is the roadmap for that.

That went back decades - with the help of documents Mary obtained from her lawyer's office. She had access to them since she was involved, she and her brother were left out of any inheritance which they were entitled to as the children of the eldest Trump brother, but Donald wanted and needed as much money as he could get. I've wondered why there were no legal repercussions after that - and the article was published in 2018.
